NSW Mission and Service Network

An event for New South Wales school staff with mission and service roles and/or interest to meet and support one another in our quest to see staff and students flourish in their communities and globally.

We invite all school staff in New South Wales with mission and service roles and/or interest to meet together to share stories, ideas, resources and challenges with a view to supporting one another in our quest to see staff and students flourish as they learn what it is to serve in their own communities as well as globally.

Event Information

You are warmly invited to join a morning of connection and encouragement with Christian teachers and leaders who share a heart for mission and service. Together, we’ll take time to share our schools’ journeys, reflect on the progress made since our last gathering in August, and be inspired by one another’s experiences. We look forward to a meaningful time of fellowship and shared learning as we continue to strengthen and express God’s mission through our school communities.

This event is for those with mission and service responsibilities or specific interest. It is open to both CSA members and non-members.

The cost of the event is $30 +GST which includes morning tea and lunch.

Speaker

Your Host: Catriona Wansbrough, Global Connect Ambassador

Catriona brings enthusiasm and energy for training staff in cross-cultural contexts and empowering school leaders. Her vast wide-ranging experience includes being a school Principal in CSA schools for 20 years. She has effectively trained teachers and leaders throughout Africa, Asia, and Pacific countries; led many mission service trips; assisted in the writing of a teacher training course in Tanzania (with New Hope International); led cross-cultural initiatives in Botswana and the Solomon Islands.

In her retirement Catriona continues to inspire leaders to be the best they can be for their communities through pastoral professional supervision; trains people in Youth Mental Health First Aid; and volunteers with Global Connect to help build and inspire mission service learning within schools, and train leaders in Christian Education.

Your speaker: Paul Perrett, Mission Director at Pacific Hills Christian School

Paul Perrett works as the Group Director of Missions within the Pacific Group of Christian Schools and is passionate about seeing students, teachers and communities grow in their knowledge of Christ. Working across Australia, and internationally, he helps to build programs that connect learning with service, social justice, disability, and global engagement.

Having worked as a social worker with The Salvation Army for over 12 years, Paul has experience in homelessness, victims of human trafficking, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, asylum seekers and refugees, indigenous sports programs, disability, trauma and holiday programs. He has designed programs for asylum seekers in community, established a school for refugees in Nauru, and has an extensive range of international experience within schools.

Paul has extensive international experience and believes education should empower students to serve, think critically, care deeply for the world, and understand God's purpose in their lives. He has a Masters of Arts, Leadership, and Theology from Regent College with a focus on integrating service learning within the primary years of school. He hopes to use these experiences to engage schools to provide authentic, well-researched service opportunities and establish their own mission programs.
